Grays Farm

Before the day's activities, Lali made some amazing chicken rice with fried chicken. Yes, two chicken dishes with lots of vegetables and flavorful rice. Just amazing.

That's some really nice farm off Rances Lane, I'm sure. The family brought me there to pick berries and veg but unfortunately it was closed on Sunday. So Lali talked to the old lady manning the place and managed to get permission for us to roam the farm! On normal days, people were allowed to pluck berries and veg on our own just for the fun of it and we can pay to bring them home! Such a great activity, isn't it? Anyway, we roamed further out and found the prized berries! There were so many strawberries in season and we just plucked away (even though we probably betrayed the old woman's trust). They were the best. So juicy and sweet. Not sour. Not hard. Just perfect! I loved the reddest kind. The raspberries were also amazing and very sour and you can NOT imagine its freshness. The blackberries were not yet ripe though. It was a great experience. I was pretty tired out walking the whole field! And at the end, Shauna decided to nick an unripe corn from the corn field. Pretty awesome! It was a pretty awesome experience.

About half past 11 at night, Shauna and I headed to a pub called The Queen. The Black Horse was closed at 11 so we stayed at The Queen till 12:30 or so. I had to give my passport to prove my age. I was bummed I did not bring my identity card. :( A pint of beer cost me £3 or so. We talked a bit about life and the future. Shauna's really fun! So I drank at an English pub AND visited an English farm. SWEET! x
